The STEM Lab at Linton Springs Elementary School in Sykesville, MD was unique to the Carroll County Public School system as it was the first one to be successfully established at the elementary level. This lab was created in partnership with a 4th Grade STEM teacher in 2015 and materials were obtained through a STEM Kickstarter grant from AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association).
I successfully co-taught my "Introduction to Basic Electronics" curriculum to 5th Graders, which instructed them on how to successfully build and program circuits using a breadboard and an Arduino Uno microcontroller. I was awarded the “Carroll County Public Schools Parent Volunteer of the Year” by proclamation in 2018 from the Carroll County Public Schools Board of Education.
